You finally have decided to get your hair colored but now you have to decide how to go about getting it done, whether you should do it yourself or have the salon do it, whether you want all your hair colored or only highlights and finally if that is not enough whether it should be permanent or semi-permanent hair color. Of course you have hopefully decided what color you want, there are plenty of those too from strawberry blond, to chocolate brown hair color, and even a jet black if you feel so bold. With so many decisions to make you may find yourself wondering if it is worth all the hassle.
A new hair color can bring a boost to a flagging spirit and give you a new sense of confidence when you need it most. Creating a new look complete with your new chocolate brown hair colors can give you the courage you need to take that extra step or push yourself just a bit further. These are all good reasons to get your hair colored of course just the desire to do something nice for yourself can be a good reason too.
Going to a salon to get your hair completely redone can be a real treat but it can also be very expensive, if you are just looking for a bit of hair color you may be find just doing that yourself. While hair color done by the salon may turn out a bit nicer if it is out of your price range then a quick color job may be just the trick. If you are looking to do highlights however you may want to spend the extra money to get a salon to do this for you. Doing highlights can be very tricky and is definitely not something you can do for yourself.
If you are not totally sure what color you want and are afraid that permanent colors may harm your hair, a semi-permanent color may be the way to go. Not only are they much more gentle on your hair, they only last 6 to 12 washings so if you do not like it you can change it in a month or two. Many people choose a hair dye such as chocolate brown hair color then find out that it was not the best color for them, by choosing a semi-permanent color you are not bound to the color until it grows out, you only have to wait for it to wash out.
